Eulogy in Eb for Band

This work is one that honors and celebrates my late father-in-law, Mark Olds, who was a not just a kind hearted man that always had a joke at the ready, but he was a loyal and faithful man of God. Mark loved the Lord and was a follower at every step of the way, in his walk with Christ. Along with my own father, he was someone I truly looked up to, and he was my second earthly dad.

Instead of mourning with great sorrow, Mark would have wanted us to celebrate his life and his new eternal life. Still, grief comes and goes, like the subtleness of the breeze before it becomes a mighty storm. This piece is to emulate the heaviness of losing a loved one, going through the stages of grief, but continuing to celebrate their life as we continue to tell their story here on Earth. And soon after, we receive the peace and comfort that only God can provide, ending the work on a hopeful note.

John 11: 25-26 "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even

though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
